4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

The Dive, which offers “dive bar food done right” in The Gaslight Lounge, has added onion rings to the menu. They’re hand-dipped in a beer batter, following what co-owner Allen Wright calls his “keep it simple, stupid” method of cooking. The Dive also is making beer-battered mushrooms, using the tree oyster variety from Dakota Mushrooms.

Spring has arrived with the Grilled Chicken Strawberry Salad at Slim Chickens. The limited-time favorite has strawberries, feta cheese crumbles, cucumbers, candied pecans and all-natural grilled or fried chicken tenders. The recommended dressing is the balsamic vinaigrette.

Seafood Capellini is one of many additions to the new spring/summer at Chef Lance’s on Phillips. The pasta is tossed with shrimp, scallops and blue crab that have been sauteed in garlic butter and white wine.

Breadsmith has started baking and selling Bakologie by Lauren Lavin cookies on Fridays and Saturdays. Four cookie flavors will be offered each month, and Cinnamon Roll was one of Lavin’s kickoff picks for April.
