4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

If you haven’t discovered the expanded deli and new seating area in the larger Sioux Falls Food Co+op, you’re in for a treat. In addition to more offerings on the hot bar, the deli has a bowl station with several options. Try the Sesame Tofu Bowl with brown rice, sesame tofu, spinach, edamame, kimchi, shitake mushrooms, bean sprouts, gochujang barbecue sauce, cilantro and sesame seeds.

The beloved apple pie waffle at La Luna Cafe has earned a permanent spot on the menu. Before, the downtown restaurant served it only in the winter, but customers kept asking for it, so now it’s available year-round. It’s made with the downtown cafe’s traditional maple vanilla batter, infused with apple pie fillings and topped with a sprinkling of cinnamon and a drizzle of caramel.

Old Skool Jersey Rippers & Balls has a new vegetarian ball. They’re filled with creamy risotto, mushrooms, carrots, peas and mozzarella, and served with marinara for dipping. “They’re smaller (than the original balls), so they have a nicer crunch to them,” owner Francisco Gajardo said.

Which day will be your favorite? A new weekly rotation of scones is available at all three Coffea Roasterie shops. Monday is almond and honey; Tuesday, peaches and cream; Wednesday, cranberry oat; Thursday, strawberry rhubarb; and Friday, banana walnut and chocolate chip.
