May 26-30: Memorial Weekend Celebration

Head to Jellystone Park and Campground for a memorial weekend celebration full of activities and fun. Thursday through Monday, the park will be offering things to do to celebrate the kickoff of summer. Expect games, crafts and dancing. Plus, on Monday night, Elite Entertainment will be performing and providing DJ services. Of course, normal activities like the Jumping Pillow, mini-golf and sand volleyball will be available throughout the weekend.

May 27: Nordic Choir 75th Anniversary Performance

Luther College is bringing its Nordic Choir’s 75th Anniversary Performance to Sioux Falls on Friday. The Nordic Choir is the college’s principal tour choir and has been recognized internationally for their skill and events such as the Christmas at Luther special. The choir will be performing at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for adults. You can purchase tickets at the door or at tickets.luther.edu.

May 28: Bike Trail Adventure

Explore the bike trail Saturday with Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. If you’re new to Sioux Falls or just haven’t had the chance to get on the trails recently, the Bike Trail Adventure will take riders from Spencer Park to key spots such as Sertoma and Yankton Trail parks. Bring your own bike. All ages are welcomed to participate. The ride will begin at noon, and the event will last about two hours, with multiple stops made for questions.

May 28: Yoga at Wileys

Join Prana Sioux Falls for a vinyasa yoga class. The class is open to all ages and skill levels and is donation-based, with all proceeds benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, South Dakota chapter. The class is part of Prana’s summer series, with events taking place every Saturday. The class will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the Wileys patio at Sixth and Main. Bring water and proper athletic gear.

May 28: May Falls Art Market

The May Falls Art Market is taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and there are several activities occurring throughout the day to stimulate your creativity. From 9 to 11 a.m., free workshops will be taking place for all ages: think rock painting and how to transition a lawn to native plants. At 11 a.m., a class on iron casting will take place. Throughout the day, original art by local artists will be for sale. The Falls Art Market is held at the BronzeAge Art Casting sculpture foundry at 1110 N. Weber Ave.

May 29: Sunday Funday Mountain Bike Ride

Whether you’ve been biking for years or are just beginning, this Spoke-n-Sport ride will be perfect for you to get outside. The Sunday Funday Mountain Bike Ride will begin at 4 p.m. at the Spoke-n-Sport store at 3401 S. Cliff Ave. From there, two groups will head out: one intermediate and one beginner. The intermediate group will head to Tuthill Park, while the beginner class will go to Yankton Trail Park. The only requirements for the ride are a helmet, a bike with off-road capabilities and a signed waiver. To sign the waiver, click here.
