Downtown to transform into mini-golf course with Open Streets event
This event listing is sponsored by Downtown Sioux Falls Inc.
Tee up for a one-of-a-kind experience as downtown Sioux Falls transforms into a miniature golf course Friday.
It’s part of the June 5 Open Streets event from Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. on Main Avenue between 11th and 13th streets.

The June event, sponsored by Architecture Incorporated, will turn that area of downtown into an interactive 18-hole mini golf course, paired with local vendors, food trucks, live music and entertainment for all ages. Attendees can stroll the car-free street while enjoying a playful and engaging downtown experience.
Participants can take part in the custom-designed mini golf course starting at 12th Street and Main Avenue near the DTSF tent. Individual play is $6, and family play is $20. Payment is cashless and available on-site. Players can purchase a round of mini golf, which includes a commemorative golf ball to keep, and a putter to use during play.
The evening also will feature a variety of local performers and activities, including aerial arts, New Sound Wrestling, Blue Moon Rhythm, Stampede Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee demonstrations, along with a selection of food trucks.
Open Streets takes place alongside Free First Friday at the Washington Pavilion, offering even more opportunities to explore arts and culture throughout downtown.
Parking is free after 5 p.m. in downtown parking ramps, making it easy to park once and enjoy the evening on foot.
“Open Streets continues to bring energy, creativity and connection to our downtown,” said Brandon Hanson, CEO of Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. “This mini golf theme adds a fun, interactive twist that invites people of all ages to get out, play and experience downtown in a new way.”
Open Streets continues throughout the summer, transforming downtown blocks into pedestrian-friendly spaces where the community can gather, explore and connect.
Future Open Streets events include:
- July 3 – Celebrating America’s 250th, sponsored by Koch Hazard Architects.
- Aug. 7 – Wags and Wine, sponsored by P&M Steel.
The concept behind the Open Streets event is to offer a fun, people-first downtown experience and unique opportunities to enjoy Sioux Falls throughout the summer.
