Food Network heads to Look’s Marketplace

The “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” tour of the Sioux Falls food scene wound through Look’s Marketplace tonight.

The Food Network show featured the Sioux Falls foodie favorite, located along Prairie Green Golf Course.

What ate: The Porcules sandwich and Motor City Pizza (Remember, we suggested you eat the latter this week? Still time for that).

What he said: Host Guy Fieri had huge praise for Look’s, which combines a grocery store, butcher shop, restaurant, brewery, ice cream shop and more under one roof. “This is unique to the world,” he said, later calling it the “culinary unicorn of South Dakota.”

How it tasted: On the Motor City Pizza:“This is like you guys have been in the Detroit pizza business for generations,” Fieri said. “You’ve taken all your expertise as a chef and all the support you get here from the marketplace and just swing for the fences.”

On the Porcules sandwich: “All the pork is fantastic, seasoned great. That ciabatta roll is a perfect vessel,” he said, calling it a “home run.”
