4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

The new La Playita has an extensive menu of Mexican seafood specialties. You can try many of the offerings with the Mariscada Para Dos Personas, or Seafood Feast for Two. Offerings change, but you’ll typically find grilled and/or fried fish, shrimp prepared several ways, crab legs, ceviche, fries and salad. The restaurant is at 5216 E. Arrowhead Parkway.

22Ten Kitchen Cocktails is featuring its annual Taste of New Orleans menu for a few more weeks. Our pick is the Acadian Jambalaya with blackened chicken, tasso ham, andouille sausage, rice, trinity — the traditional Cajun mix of sauteed onion, bell pepper and celery — and Cajun cream.

The new restaurant version of Taqueria Juanita has added several menu items to its standards from the food truck. Fajita Mix has grilled shrimp, chicken and steak with bell peppers and onions, and is served with tortillas, rice, beans and roasted pepper and onion. The restaurant is at 923 S. Marion Road.

Intoxibakes has introduced a new cupcake flavor: Vanilla Soft Serve. It’s a vanilla waffle cone cupcake infused with Tippy Cow liqueur, topped with vanilla soft serve-infused buttercream and waffle cone pieces. It’s available through the weekend and will be added to the menu if customers like it.
