4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Bacon lovers will want to try this one. Safari Bar & Grill at Renner has added bacon burnt ends to its “Lion Tamer” appetizer menu. The cured pork belly comes from neighboring Renner Corner Meats. It’s roasted and glazed with the restaurant’s barbecue bourbon sauce.

Having to pick one thing from all the new additions to the menu at Chef Lance’s on Phillips is tricky. We went with the Caribbean grilled chicken for dinner. The jerk spice chicken breast is served with white and wild rice that’s topped with mango pico de gallo.

Subway has a dozen new subs that customers can order by number. No. 3 is The Monster with steak, bacon, green pepper, onion and a double helping of Monterrey cheddar. It’s served toasted on Artisan Italian bread and topped off with peppercorn ranch dressing. Customers can customize it if they wish.

It’s the season for carnivals, so Squealer’s Smoke Shack in Tea is featuring an appropriately themed dessert this month. Funnel cake fries are drizzled with caramel and chocolate and dusted with powdered sugar. They’re served with cream cheese frosting for dipping.
