4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Customers at the new east-side second location for WoodGrain Brewing Co. can enjoy food with their craft beer. The menu features sausages made by Dakota Craft Links, which longtime chef Ryan Tracy opened in October 2o24 in the Jones421 Building downtown. Our pick is WG Bratchos with a chopped Polish bratwurst, the brewery’s beer cheese, tomato, white onion, banana pepper and green onion on a bed of tortilla chips. WoodGrain expanded into the former Obscure Brewing Co. building at 5200 E. Grant St. in early May.

At Union Social in Harrisburg, you can go bowling, throw axes, play arcade games and enjoy food and drink. The family entertainment center opened in November 2024 next to Air Madness, and it recently updated the menu. Francisco Gajardo, director of food and beverage, added Disco Fries, which remind him of his days in New Jersey when he and friends would make late-night stops at a diner. The fries are smothered in gravy and melted American cheese, served with a side of crema for dipping.

The new Summer Sensations feature menu at 22Ten Kitchen + Cocktails includes Salmon Sliders. Get two salmon cakes on sesame buns with avocado, tomato, spring mix and dill yogurt. They’re served with tempura sweet potato.

Polar Bites, which has seen a slower start to its season because of construction at 41st Street and Cliff Avenue, has introduced parfaits to help draw customers. Flavors include Strawberry Crunch, Cupcake, Take 5, Oatmeal Cream Pie and Nutty Buddy, which is our pick. It includes chunks of the Little Debbie treat, along with vanilla soft-serve ice cream, caramel and chocolate syrups and whipped topping. Find the ice cream stand in a modified shipping container at 501 E. 41st St. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. daily.
