4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

At The Steel District’s new Ironwood Steakhouse, Mushroom Pierogies are featured on the Hot Hors d’Oeuvres menu. Seasonal mushrooms are blended with Swiss cheese, stuffed into traditional Polish dumplings, which are then seared in butter and topped with more mushrooms, dill creme fraiche and crispy shallots.

Granite City Food & Brewery has several new seasonal offerings. Our pick is Salmon Tchoupitoulas. Pan-seared Cajun salmon is topped with a bearnaise sauce and green onion and served with a hash of red potatoes, andouille sausage, sauteed mushrooms and red peppers.

Looking for a loaded burger to prepare your stomach for January’s Downtown Burger Battle? Great Shots has a new one. The Bertha has a patty topped with cheddar, bacon, pulled pork, fried egg and crispy fried onions on a toasted bun. Add a second patty if you don’t think that will fill you up.

Seasonal offerings have arrived at Mary’s Mountain Cookies. Mint Grinch is filled with crushed Oreos and mint flavoring. It’s topped with mint glaze, drizzled with dark chocolate and decorated with a “teeny-tiny heart.”
