Sept. 13: Moonlight ride
Join members of the Pint Lifters Bicycle Club for a moonlight ride Friday. Meet at WoodGrain Brewing Co., 101 S. Phillips Ave., between 7 and 8 p.m. The ride will start at 8 and take the south part of the city’s bike trail and end at the Top Hat. There will be music. Don’t forget your bike lights!

Sept. 14: Puppy Soccer
Dakota Alliance Soccer Club and the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society in partnership with Sioux Falls Parks & Rec will host puppy soccer at Spencer Park, 3501 S. Cliff Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Bring your dog to the park, where there will be community partners and vendor booths. The first 50 guests to stop by the Dakota Alliance booth will receive a free pawprint ball.

Sept. 14: Cats and kittens
Meow! The world’s No. 1 cat video festival will arrive at the State Theatre at 11 a.m. Saturday. CatVideoFest 2024 is a compilation of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos and classic internet powerhouses. Proceeds will benefit the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. To purchase tickets, click here.

Sept. 15: Latino Festival
The 2024 Latino Festival and Parade returns Saturday to the Levitt Shell. The free family event is a celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month and is organized by the South Dakota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It will include music, bands, food, drinks, culture and more from noon to 5 p.m.

Sept. 18: Chill at the Hill
September is a mellow kind of month and what better place to enjoy it than at Great Bear Ski Valley, 5901 E. Rice St. From 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, you can enjoy live music and food trucks, and the bar will serve beer and wine. Zon Tran is performing, with Berkes BBQ and Oh My Cupcakes serving food and treats. Since September still has a few days to go, you also can chill Sept. 25 with Todd Casilli and Murph’s Burgers & Fries.

Coming up: Sept. 19
Rare by Design is hosting the inaugural The Film Festival, dedicated to showcasing filmmakers with rare diseases and disabilities from across the globe. It will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19 at the State Theatre. Featured films include “Burden,” “Life Through a Lens,” “Menkes Disease: Finding Help & Hope” and “Together We Travel.” Seven short films also will be shown. Tickets for the event are available on Eventbrite.
