April 5-9: Egg Drop Community Easter Egg Hunt

Want to win a few prizes and have some fun in the process? Oh My Cupcakes is hosting a community Easter egg hunt through Saturday. Each night, “Cupcake Ninjas” will drop golden eggs throughout the city for the community to find the next day. The golden eggs contain cupcake tokens, candy and gift cards. One special egg will contain a $100 gift card to the bakery. Clues for the locations of the eggs will be posted on the Oh My Cupcakes Facebook page.

April 7-9: Spring Open House at Plum’s

Plum’s Cooking Co. is hosting its spring open house, and there is sure to be plenty in store for those who visit. You’ll receive 20 percent to 30 percent off certain brands and enjoy tastings and wine.

Plus, Plum’s is hosting three free workshops throughout the open house. On Thursday will be Tea and Toast, Friday will be Spring Baking Basics, and Saturday will feature Wine Pairing  and Charcuterie Basics. For a full list of event times and offers, click here.

April 8: “Hey Kid” Book Release

Support a Sioux Falls teacher and author with the release of his new book, “Hey Kid,” on Friday. Lincoln High School English teacher Xavier Pastrano’s book is inspired by time spent in the classroom with his students. His hope is to ​​”remind teenagers that they’re not alone in their thoughts and experiences and calls upon adults to remember what it was like to be a kid navigating through a complicated world.” Pastrano will be joined by Ruth Comfort, Daniel Bethke and Emma Carlson, who will read poetry. The party will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Full Circle Book Co-Op. 123 W. 10th St.

April 9: Underwater Easter Egg Hunt

If you haven’t got enough of searching for eggs, the Midco Aquatic Center is hosting an Easter egg hunt — with a unique twist.

The underwater Easter egg hunt will take place — you guessed it — underwater, with prizes in each egg. Swimmers will be divided into age groups, and when they are finished hunting, they’ll be able to swim regularly. No registration is required for the event, but those who want to participate will need to have an active swim pass or pay the daily admission rate. The egg hunt will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

April 9: Gardening With the Masters

Want to gear up your gardening skills for the springtime? Join the Minnehaha County Master Gardeners for their annual Gardening With the Masters spring event. You’ll hear presentations from horticulture experts and watch demonstrations from Master Gardeners. There also will be door prizes given during the event, and lunch will be provided. The event will be Saturday at the Augustana University Froiland Science Complex. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased by clicking here.

April 9: Egg hunt, Kidtopia at Dawley Farm Village

All week: Downtown Restaurant Week

Want to enjoy some of your old favorite restaurants in a different way? More than 10 restaurants downtown have created menu items for this week only in celebration of Downtown Restaurant Week. Presented by Think3D Solutions, Downtown Restaurant Week was created to give some of downtown’s best loved-chefs a chance to be creative with their menu and for the community to gather.
