If the Winter Olympics are inspiring you to make the most of the rest of our winter sports season, here’s where to go to upgrade your gear.

Spoke-N-Sport now offers a wide selection of equipment and apparel from its store at 2019 S. Minnesota Ave. – and nearly all of it is about to go on sale.

“People are still discovering that we sell winter gear because it’s the first season we’ve carried it,” owner Chad Pickard said. “With our bikes, we typically see more shoppers looking after a large race, so we expect to see a similar bump from the Winter Olympics, and when shoppers come in, the prices are going to be right.”

Beginning Thurdsay, Feb. 10, the following offers will be available while they last:

30 percent off apparel for men, women and children

“We have jackets, snow pants and all accessories, including gloves and hats, mostly by Outdoor Research and Burton,” Pickard said.

Up to 40 percent off skis and snow boots

Spoke-N-Sport carries Rossignol, Armada and Atomic, and inventory “is sitting pretty good,” Pickard said.

“Our kids’ gear has been selling very well, but we still have sizes for kids in just about every boot. Nationwide, kids’ gear is very limited, so we’re getting phone calls, but if you stop in soon, we likely can accommodate you.”

Up to 25 percent off snowboards, snowboard boots and bindings

Snowboarding is popular in Sioux Falls, and Spoke-N-Sport carries products by Burton, Battalion, Rossignol and Arbor.

“The financial barrier to picking up the sport is lower than skiing, and this is a great time to buy,” Pickard said.

New services

Customers also are discovering that Spoke-N-Sport offers boot fitting and ski tuning.

“We’ve had amazing feedback on our boot fitting. People absolutely love it,” Pickard said. “Your feet shouldn’t hurt while you’re skiing. Most people just aren’t in the right boot or it’s not fitting well.”

“With skis, we’re turning them around in 24 hours, so just drop them off for tuning anytime,” Pickard said.
