Restaurant Roundup: Anniversary $2.50 specials, summer features

Sonic has introduced the America $2.50 Menu to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Items include the Red, White & Blue Slush Float, Jr. Double Cheeseburger, All-American Hot Dog and medium onion rings. The menu is available through July 12.

The Human Bean is celebrating the anniversary with $2.50 select drinks through July 6. The offer includes lemonades, iced teas and shaken espressos, up to 24 ounces.

A featured menu for summer has arrived at the Phillips Avenue Diner. Options include lemon blueberry French toast, a pulled pork sandwich, the Backyard BBQ Salad, walking taco salad, jalapeno poppers and a key lime pie shake.

Chick-fil-A’s summertime fan favorites have returned: Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich, Peach Milkshake and Pineapple Dragonfruit Lemonade or Sprite.

Taking advantage of summer, Pomegranate Market is selling gourmet hot dogs for lunch on Thursdays at the amphitheater on the river near the downtown grocery store. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Polar Bites has a new limited-time treat that’s served in a pineapple. A hollowed out whole pineapple is filled with soft-serve vanilla ice cream and topped with rainbow-colored shaved ice and whipped cream. It’s available through July 5.

Breakfast just got quicker at the Sioux Falls Food Co+op. Instead of a hot bar with entrees, the new offering features grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches and a bowl. Items are served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. weekdays and 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the weekend.
