4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

The Barrel House has rolled out lots of new menu items, including these: Korean brisket bao bun tacos. They start with slow-smoked Korean BBQ-style prime brisket laid in a fluffy steamed bao bun and topped with cojito cheese, pickled red onions, cilantro and fire-roasted salsa.

Red Lobster’s Signature Feasts are back for a limited time. Joining the menu this year: the Mariner’s Feast. It features Atlantic salmon with a creamy langostino and Norway lobster sauce, grilled sea scallops and Walt’s Favorite Shrimp. The meal comes with two sides.

Apple cider doughnuts are back for the season at Flyboy Donuts. The cake doughnut that’s coated with sugar pairs great, of course, with a cup of Flyboy Coffee. They also come as donut holes, and they’re the star in the specialty caramel apple doughnuts that come with whipped cream and caramel sauce. Get them in the case at all four stores or every Friday and Saturday at Country Apple Orchard.

Here’s another offering that makes good use of the apples that are in season. Stensland Family Farms churned up Country Apple Crisp ice cream. It features vanilla spice ice cream mixed with chunks of baked cinnamon apples from Country Apple Orchard and homemade oatmeal crisp topping. It’s available in the dipping case at all three retail locations.
