4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

Pho Thai expanded last month to the east side of Sioux Falls. While the menu is the same as the other two locations — minus the sushi that’s served only downtown — we wanted to share our pick from the menu. Pineapple Fried Rice is served in a pineapple boat. For an additional charge, add chicken, shrimp, beef or combo, which is chicken, shrimp, beef, scallop and squid. It’s in the former Denny’s building at 4001 E. 10th St.

Here’s a great meal for winter at ROAM Kitchen + Bar. Swedish Meatballs are made with bison and served with braised red cabbage, creamed gravy, mashed potatoes and crispy shoestring yams.

Oh my soups, salads and sandwiches! Oh My Cupcakes now serves lunch at The Bridges at 57th location. Each week features a sandwich or salad and soup. Order them separately or get a combo, which also includes a cupcake. This week, the offerings are Garden Party Chicken Salad served on a croissant and broccoli cheddar soup. Past offerings have included options like a turkey cranberry melt, Bourbon and Bliss pulled chicken sandwich, Fiery Griddled Cheese, Winterberry Turkey & Feta Salad, and soups like chicken wild rice, roasted red pepper gouda, butternut squash and chicken tortilla. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

El Chamoy, a Mexican ice cream and snack shop on the west side of downtown, has increased its savory offerings significantly. It now serves tacos, burritos, tortas, hot dogs and more. Our pick is the street taco. Meat choices include carne asada, barbacoa and chicken — shown in the photo — chorizo and suadero, which is similar to brisket. The tacos are served on corn tortillas with diced onion, fresh cilantro, a choice of salsas and slices of lime and cucumber.
