This paid event listing is sponsored by Harvester Kitchen by Bryan.

Think about going to a dinner party where you’re hosted by experts and constantly being introduced to new, delicious foods and beverages.

That’s the concept behind Discovery Dinners, which are held throughout the year at Harvester Kitchen by Bryan inside the Harvester Building downtown.

“Discovery Dinners are designed to resemble an intimate dinner party with the premise of showing our guests something new or having an expert in their field introduce what they do, why and how,” owner Bryan Moscatello explained.

“They have been very successful. Guests enjoy the more intimate setting and the educational aspect of these events. They have the opportunity to speak directly with the winemaker, brewer, guest pastry chef, farmer or rancher.”

Sound like a reservation you should make?

There are three upcoming Discovery Dinners – but you’ll want to act fast to secure your place at the table.

Nov. 15: An Evening With Jessup Cellars

Hosts Dan and Becky Blue, co-owners of Jessup Cellars Winery, bring their masterful ability to convey a passion for wine to this dinner.

The evening begins with a reception of passed canapes, followed by dinner paired with a curated selection of Jessup Cellars wines from the Napa Valley and California.

“Over the past few weeks, we have worked closely with them to fine-tune the food and wine pairings for this Discovery Dinner,” Moscatello said. “We appreciate the breadth of the Jessup portfolio, from sauvignon blanc to their zinfandel port, and want to experience as many of their ultra-premium wines as possible! Plus, at Harvester Kitchen, we have the same goal as Jessup Cellars to create and share life-enriching experiences with our guests.”

Dec. 23-24: Feast of the Seven Fishes

This Christmas experience was so popular when it debuted last year, it’s back for two nights this year.

“We were very excited to provide this event last year, and it sold out, which indicated to us that our guests shared in the excitement,” Moscatello said.

This Italian-American tradition is named because it features seven seafood dishes.

“We are having fun evolving the menu and expanding our canapes delivered as the first course. Due to popular demand, we are bringing back the gnocchi with squid Bolognese. Of course, we will continue the dessert/takeaway of Christmas cookies from my grandma’s recipes,” Moscatello said.

Choose food only or select wine pairings too.

Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner Party

This popular event sold out last year, too, so don’t wait!

Ring in the new year beginning at 6 p.m. at Harvester Kitchen. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a sumptuous six-course dining experience. Two options are available, including a reserve wine pairing, which will include the team’s favorite highly allocated wines, and nonalcoholic cocktails also will be available.

“For New Year’s Eve, attendees from last year will notice some additional features thrown into the mix, such as truffles shaved tableside and our take on traditional caviar service,” Moscatello said. “We will have beautiful live music during the reception and a DJ for after-dinner dancing. Plus, there will be a party favor to take home to enjoy the next day.”

And, of course, you’ll ring in the new year at midnight with a sparkling wine toast and a table of sweets.
