Sept. 8: Doggy & Me Charcuterie

For the dog who has it all: How about a customized charcuterie experience?  Learn to make a human-friendly and dog-friendly charcuterie at this event co-hosted by Paws Pet Resort and Cultivated in Love. It’s at 7 p.m. in the daycare building at Paws, 7121 S. Cliff Ave. You’ll go home with a mini board for you and your pup. Drinks are provided and friendly trained dogs are welcomed. Sept. 8-9: Great Outdoor Store Garage Sale

Shop a collection of outdoor gear and apparel for a good cause. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., shop at and a portion of the sales will benefit Friends of the Big Sioux River.

Sept. 10: Back to School Bash

Add a little fun to back-to-school time with this event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., hosted by ACE Academy, Nrdvana and The HUB SD. It’s at Nrdvana, 1744 S. Cliff Ave. Activities include food trucks, face painting, a video game tournament and free bike checks.

Sept. 10: Beervana 2022

Monks Ale House holds its annual event from 1 to 5 p.m. It’s a ticketed event for unlimited tastings. Tickets are $60 at the event or $50 pre-sale at Monks.

Sept. 10: Bees & Beer

The Good Earth Farm in Lennox is celebrating the honey harvest from 3:30to 10 p.m. with its second annual Bees and Beer event. Stop out for local beer, honey flights, and honey-inspired pizzas.

Sept. 10: Homemade salsa contest

Whose salsa will rise to the top? Find out at Cherry Rock Farms in Brandon, which hosts its second annual contest from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be salsa sampling — chips are provided — a guest judge panel, trophies and fresh-picked produce in the market. Sept. 10: Meet the breeds

Is a dog in your family’s future? Here’s a fun way to get to know the breeds at an event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds put on by the Sioux Empire Kennel Club:

Sept. 11: Homesteader Day Harvest Festival

The 44th annual Homesteader Day Harvest Festival will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Beaver Creek Nature Area just east of Sioux Falls. Demonstrations will include pioneer farming, Civil War re-enactors, Dutch oven cooking, games and more. It’s sponsored by the Siouxland Heritage Museums and South Dakota Game, Fish, & Parks. Admission is free!

Sept. 13: Science at the Pub

Join SDSU’s SCI Squad at Severance Brewing Co. in downtown Sioux Falls at 7 p.m. for a lively demonstration on the theme “Science is all around us.”

Sept. 13: Taco Tuesday bike ride

The monthly ride is from 6 to 8 p.m. and starts at the Scheels south entrance. Meet there at 5:45 p.m., hit the bike trail for a fun ride and then circle back for food at Vinyl Taco where you’ll get 20 percent off your food.

Sept. 14: Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow

Here’s a unique way to spend a Wednesday. Beginning at 8 p.m. at Bigs Bar, 3110 W. 12th St., take in this high-energy circus stunt show with loud music and strobe lights. This “super-group vaudeville freak show of wonder” has performed more than 3,000 shows and in 16 countries. Hellzapoppin features live stunts like fire eating and fire breathing, magic and illusions, acrobatic stunts, hand balancing, foot archery, sword swallowing, juggling, unicycling and more.
