May 16: Open Air T’ai Chi & Singing Bowls

Learn the art of t’ai chi, qigong and Himalayan singing bowls with experts Monday at the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. T’ai chi and qigong are mind-body practices that focus on relaxation, balance improvement and other mindfulness objectives. The vibrations of the singing bowls resonate with energy in your body, bringing both your body and mind to a resting state. The classes are open to all skill and fitness levels, and comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended, as well as a light snack before the first class. The hourlong t’ai chi class will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by the singing bowls. In the event of bad weather, the classes will take place in the classroom inside the Mabel & Judy Jasper Educational Center. The fee is $20 per class or $30 for both. Participants can register on the arboretum’s website.
