July 7: Urban Indian Health downtown open house
Join South Dakota Urban Indian Health at its new downtown location Thursday for an open house. The event will celebrate the new space that “serves as a cultural conduit to the Sioux Falls indigenous community” with traditional Dakota cultural activities. Fry bread and hors d’oeuvres also will be served, and there will be arts and crafts. The open house will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at 300 N Phillips Ave, Suite 120.

July 9: Yoga in the Park
Start your morning off right with Yoga in the Park hosted by Barre3 and Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. The session is part of a series that the city is hosting with different instructors throughout the Sioux Falls region. It will be appropriate for all ages and skill levels and focus mostly on stress relief, breath control and posture. Meet at the west shelter at Covell Lake at 8 a.m. Saturday. No registration is required.
July 9: Family Fishing
Get the family together for a morning of fishing at Family Park hosted by South Dakota Game Fish and Parks, the Outdoor Campus and Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. Supplies are not necessary — fishing poles and bait will be supplied to participants on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required. Fishing will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and is suitable for all ages.

July 9: Siouxland Libraries’ Reading Invasion
Combine a day outdoors with a day of reading during the Siouxland Libraries’ Reading Invasion taking place at the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. The event is meant to celebrate “the city’s love of reading, beautiful public spaces and spirit of community and gathering.” You’re encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and a book, or you can check out the bookmobile, which will be open for business during the day. The reading invasion will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, and all ages are welcome for the event.

July 10: Sioux Empire Wedding Showcase
If you’ve got a wedding planned anytime soon, you’ll want to check out the Sioux Empire Wedding Showcase on Sunday. Advertised as the “largest and most attended bridal wedding and fashion show” in Sioux Falls, the event will feature lead stylist Jane Rae Events as well as other Sioux Falls-area wedding professionals. The showcase will be at the Denny Sanford Premier Center from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased can be purchased here.
