March 3: Downtown Boutique Crawl

Head downtown from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday for shopping, snacking, sipping and, of course, saving. Stop at each of the participating businesses to gather stamps on a bingo card: Layered Elements Boutique, Bloom Room, Threads by Simply Perfect, JuLiana’s Boutique La Femme, Chelsea’s Boutique, M.K. Threads and Primp.

March 4: Free First Friday

This month’s Free First Friday has a few tricks up its sleeve. In addition to the usual free admission to the Kirby Science Discovery Center at the Washington Pavilion and various deals around the downtown area, the Pavilion’s Visual Arts Center is hosting a free reception for the “Floating Worlds” exhibit. It will include “Exquisite Cloud,” a collectively assembled art experience that explores ideas of collaboration, celebration and improvisation through interaction with sculptural props, music, dance and poetry. The performance includes Move to Heal South Dakota, Jill Fill and Fine Mess Youth Dance Collective. Food and drink also will be available. The reception will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

March 5-6: Sioux Falls Toy Show

The annual Sioux Falls Toy Show will take place this weekend at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall. The event, hosted by Lev Promotions, will feature over 400 tables with trucks, toys, dolls and more. Expect to see model cars and other collectibles featured. There also wil. be an auction at the event. Admission to the toy show is $6, and the show will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The Ramkota Exhibit Hall is at 3200 W. Maple St.

March 5-6: Benson’s Flea Market

Benson’s Flea Market returns to the W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds this weekend. The flea market has famously been running in South Dakota for years and puts on an event every month on the first full weekend. You’ll see antiques, collectibles, new items and “rummage sale-type” items. Admission is $2.50 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. The flea market will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

March 6: Bath Time Fun

Everyone loves relaxing with a good bath, and Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation wants to help you make bath time even more relaxing. Spend an afternoon formulating and creating your very own bath bombs and bath salts. You’ll even get to choose your own scents. The registration fee, which is $10, will cover all necessary materials. The event will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Oyate Community Center, 2421 W. 15th St. To register, click here.

March 7: Family Wii Games

Get the family together for some friendly competition in the ongoing Family Wii Games series. Each night of the series will be hosted at a different location with a different game being played. Monday, Wii bowling will be hosted at the Morningside Community Center, 2400 S. Bahnson Ave. Registration is free but required to participate in the event. To register, click here.

March 8: Yoga For Kids

Here’s a good way to get rid of the after-school jitters: Send your child to Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation’s Yoga For Kids class Tuesday. In this free class, your child will learn basic yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditations. They’ll also play some yoga-themed games and do drawings. The hourlong class will start at 3:30 p.m. in the MariCar Community Center, 400 N. Valley View Road. No registration is required.
