June 14: Festival of Cultures

The 28th annual Festival of Cultures, a free, family-friendly event, is a partnership between the LSS Multi-Cultural Center and Levitt at the Falls and presented by First Premier Bank/Premier Bankcard. It will run from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturay at the Levitt Shell, 504 N. Phillips Ave. The day includes live entertainment, local vendor booths, food trucks and fun kids’ activities. This year, it expands to the Levitt lawn with the Global Village and Kids’ Zone. For information, including a map of the festival grounds, visit Festival.LssSD.org.

June 14: Pride Festival

The two-part Sioux Falls Pride Parade & Festival will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with a parade in downtown Sioux Falls. The parade will proceed down Eighth Street from Dakota Avenue to Reed Avenue. Cody Ingle is this year’s parade marshal. The festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. at Yankton Trail Park. Pride in the Park, an all-ages drag show, will begin at 1 p.m.

June 14: Tacos and Tequila

The Tacos and Tequila Festival will return to Sioux Falls on Saturday at The Birdcage/Sioux Falls Stadium. The lineup this year features T.I., Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Chamillionaire, Trick Daddy, B.O.B, David Banner, Paul Wall, Bubba Sparxxx, Murphy Lee and DJ Ashton Martin. It will include lucha libre wrestlers, a Chihuahua beauty pageant, an exotic car showcase, Margs & Tequila Shot Bars and a new salsa and queso competition. It will begin at 1:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

June 14: Random acts

Freddie, who was stillborn on Sept. 8, 2022, will be honored in a family-friendly day of hope, remembrance and impact during the first Friends of Freddie event from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the YMCA Leif Ericson Day Camp, 2301 E. 26th St. It will celebrate community, provide space to share stories of love and loss, and raise funds to send local children to summer camp, including scholarships for the Little Vikes program. June 15: Family walk

One Mile, One Family is a fun, feel-good run/walk for all ages and abilities, whether you’re a sprinter, jogger or prefer a leisurely stroll. Hosted by the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Department, it will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kuehn Park, 6400 W. 41st St. After the run, enjoy a doughnut, chocolate milk, orange juice and water.

June 17: Summer yoga

Looking for a yoga class that’s more than that, something that offers community and connection? Faminine Bliss Yoga Club will begin a weekly series at Big Sioux Recreation Area just west of Brandon from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The summer yoga hikes will run for 12 weeks. You can register here.
