April 30: Dueling duo

We always love a good dueling piano night, so we had to include this one at 9 p.m. at Shenanigans Sports Bar and Grill. Andy and Ryno will be at the pianos, and there’s no cover charge.

April 30-May 1: Scheels Fish Fest

Fishing season is here, and Scheels is celebrating it for two days. Talk to experts from across the country

Inventory for many items will be limited. The store will be hosting local Scheels pro fishermen and experts from the following vendors:

  • Favorite Fishing
  • Shimano
  • Absolute Outdoors

May 1: Indoor/outdoor vintage market

Shop vendors inside and out at 48271 Highway 42 in Rowena (use Brandon for your GPS) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors include vintage, antiques, salvaged, primitives, architectural, rustic, farm fresh, furniture and upcycled. There will be at least one food truck all day. Your next chance to shop outdoors is June 5.

May 1: Doggy Taco Bar

Start the Cinco de Mayo celebration early at Shopdog Boutique at The Bridges at 57th. The pet boutique will host a free doggy taco bar from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

May 1: Roses and Rosé: The Art Of Painting With Roses

We’re loving this combo. You literally learn to paint using a rose while drinking rosé wine. It’s from 2 to 4 p.m. at Full Circle Book Co-op 123 W. 10th St. Your painting experience will include a 16-by-20-inch canvas, one rose to paint with, acrylic paint, an easel and a glass of wine.

Kristine will help you become comfortable creating, and you will spend two hours learning how to paint with a rose and create whatever you want. This class is recommended for age 14 and up. Masks are required. Click here to learn more.

May 1: Kentucky Derby at Blarney Stone

The downtown Blarney Stone Irish pub marks Kentucky Derby day with two signature drinks: Mint Julep and Derby Peach. Ladies, wear your Derby hat and get a Derby drink for free. The race is at 5:50 p.m.

May 2: May Day Market

Small businesses and side hustles will sell their merchandise at the office of Amy Stockberger Real Estate, 610 W. 49th St. Pick up a gift, support small business, and shop from 2 to 4 p.m.

May 2: Swap Meet

The 17th annual event returns to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All things automotive, bikes, gas and oil, and flea market items are welcome. Click here to learn more.
