Jan. 15: Locally Sourced, a charity fashion show
Icon Lounge is hosting a fashion show with exclusively local companies — and it’s for a good cause. The event will benefit Lutheran Social Services while also showcasing Sioux Falls-area favorites such as Terra Shepherd Boutique & Apothecary, Mint & Basil and Primp. The fashion show itself will start at 8 p.m., with a cocktail hour beginning at 7 p.m. for certain ticket holders and an after-party beginning at 9 p.m. General admission tickets for the show are $15 and can be purchased here.
Jan. 15: Race and Hi Performance Swap Meet
IMCA Racing Parts and Lev Promotions are hosting a Race and Hi Performance Swap Meet at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. There will be more than 300 booths at the event showing and trading various items. Admission is $8, and free for those 12 and younger. The show will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Expo Center.
Jan. 16: GonnaGetWed Bridal Showcase
If you’re planning a wedding any time soon, you’re in luck. The GonnaGetwed Bridal Showcase will take place at the Sioux Falls Convention Center and will feature a fashion show and booths with various wedding items. You’ll be able to meet local wedding experts and take a look at some of the most popular trends in honeymoons, flowers, gowns and more. The showcase will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $5.
Jan. 16: South Dakota Bicycle Summit
The South Dakota Bicycle Summit will return to the Washington Pavilion. Get the chance to hear from speakers, and browse vendors in the Grand Hall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Speakers include Sioux Falls Bicycle Racing and the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. Jan. 16: Coffee & Canvas
Join artist Carol Childress for an evening of coffee and painting at Dunn Brothers Coffee. For $25, you’ll get a free drink of your choice and all the materials necessary to make a painting along with Childress. The coffee shop also will be serving food. The event will begin at 6 p.m., and you can sign up at Dunn Brothers, 5320 E. Arrowhead Parkway.
Jan. 18: Snow Tie-Dye
Have you ever used snow in an art project? With Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation, you’ll be able to create many tie-dye items using ice and snow, which give garments a unique look. The event will take place at the Oyate Community Center at 15th and Garfield at Garfield Elementary and is targeted to teenagers. Registration is $5, and the event will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Sign up at register.siouxfallsparks.org.
