Feb. 22: Dog yoga
Wildflower Yoga has teamed up with Almost Home Canine Resuce for a beginner-friendly yoga class with adoptable dogs. A portion of the ticket price will be donated to Almost Home. After yoga, you can play with the dogs and enjoy a pint of beer or a nonalcoholic drink. Tickets are available here. It will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Severance Brewing, 701 N. Phillips Ave.

Feb. 22: Paint with Bob Ross
Have you always wanted to paint “happy little trees” with the late artist Bob Ross? Lava’s Coffee, 305 W. Willow Ave. in Harrisburg, offers that chance from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday in a Galentine’s Day event. It begins with a social hour – and coffee and cookies – then a Bob Ross video and painting at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10; all supplies will be provided.

Feb. 22: Talent show
Sioux Empire Pride Sports Association and the Rainbow Chorus of Sioux Falls will host a talent show at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Hamre Recital Hall in Augustana University’s Humanities Building. Prizes will be awarded to the top three talent show entries in each division. Sign up for the talent show by emailing [email protected]. The talent show is inclusive of LGBTQIA2S+ performers; however, this need not be an integral part or theme of any act. No performer needs to identify as LGBTQIA2S+to participate. Feb. 25: Bad art
You don’t have to be a great artist to attend Bad Art Night. You just have to want to create art. No experience required. This is for adults; supply donation is $5. The SuFu Creative night runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 218 W. 13th St.

Feb. 26: Season 48
The TV show “Survivor” is back, and so is the Ken’s Korner watch party. As is tradition, the premiere on Wednesday will include a pizza party. The evening begins at 7 p.m. at the “North End Country Club,” 918 W. Sixth St.

Feb. 26: Hi-Fidelity
2024 seems so last year. But if you want to hear the best music selections from last year presented by local DJs Abbi Day and Dante DePerno, head to Hello Hi-Fidelity at The Hello-Hi, 120 S. Phillips Ave. It starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Coming up: April 25-26
Spring weekends fill up quickly. so you might want to put Beyond the Books, a time to celebrate inspiring stories, their authors and the experiences behind them, on your calendar. The event, sponsored by The Rita & Bob Elmen Community Library at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, will be April 25-26. Featured authors are Paul Horsted, Becky Blue, Patty Wetterling and Billy Mills. April 25 will begin at 6 p.m. with a sit-down dinner by Minervas, music by the White Spruce string quartet and a meet-and-greet with the authors. April 26 will run from 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with author presentations, book signings, a book-themed vendor fair and breakfast and lunch provided. The festival only is $50 or $100 for both days.
