Feb. 13: Make a gift

AR Workshop will help you make a special Valentine’s Day gift — or for any occasion — with a candle-making workshop at Buffalo Ridge Brewing Co. in Hartford. You’ll have 24 fragrances to choose from and use letter beads to leave a message that is revealed when the candle is burned. And you’ll receive a Valentine’s Day-themed cupcake from Sugar Palace by Emily in Harrisburg. Get your tickets here.

Feb. 13 and 15: Galentine’s events

Celebrate friendship and community at The Steel District from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a special Galentine’s Night in collaboration with Pasque Boutique, Alcove and The District Lofts. For example, at The District Lofts you can design your own mood board while touring the loft spaces, with refreshments provided.

Galentine’s Day at Primp Boutique, 204 S. Phillips Ave., will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. It will include new arrivals, mocktails, giveways and the chance to win gift cards.

On Saturday, it will be Galentine’s Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nordic Hall, 218 W. 13th St. Activities include mocktails from Good NAtured, loungewear and lingerie by Bedmate Boutique, crafting, custom-fit clasp-less jewelry, spa products, biscotti and mini photo shoots. No appointments are needed.

Feb. 13: Tomahawk County

Tomahawk County — your friendly neighborhood Grateful Dead and Phish bluegrass band — will perform Thursday at Trio Jazz Club, 340 S. Main Ave. Members are Connor Pederseon on mandolin, Colin Flynn on bass, Rylee Chavez on guitar, Kevin Jansa on guitar and banjo, and Craig Atkins on banjo. They will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with a $5 cover charge.

Feb. 14: Young adults event

Tre Ministries, 900 W. 11th St., is hosting a Young Adult Valentine’s Day Party beginning at 6 p.m. Friday. Wear camouflage for an evening of food, testimony with Tatia Grimes, fort-making, Nerf Gun war, board games, video games, pingpong and other activities.

Feb. 14-15

Maybe you don’t want to send a love letter, but you can enjoy someone else’s when Theatre Lab presents A.R. Gurney’s “Love Letters” with Dave Holly and Nancy Tapken. You can choose dinner and the show or just the show. Meals are served at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with shows at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday at DaDa Gastropub. Click here for tickets.

Feb. 14-18: Water obstacle course

WiBit is coming to the Midco Aquatic Center. The inflatable obstacle course features slides, climbing walls and more, offering fun for all ages. Lifeguards will be on duty. It will be available during pool hours, beginning at 2 p.m. Friday and ending at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
