Dec. 9-10: Icon Lounge Art Collective

Icon Lounge will be hosting its annual Art Collective event, which showcases artists of all ages from across the region. The event is free, but there will be a full bar and kitchen available throughout the night. Raffle tickets also are available to purchase for $1 for the chance to win work from the artists showcased. Hours are 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and 4 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dec. 10: Wood Workshop

AR Workshop Sioux Falls is hosting a woodworking workshop, and participants will be making framed signs, porch signs, centerpiece boxes and Lazy Susans. The event will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Prices vary based on the project chosen. Beer and wine also will be sold during the event. Tickets can be purchased at arworkshop.com/siouxfalls.

Dec. 10-11: Scheels Ice Fest 2021

Scheels Ice Fest includes seminars on ice fishing, gear and staying safe while on the ice. Ice fishing gear will be on sale the entire weekend. On Saturday, seminars will begin at noon and end at 7 p.m., and Sunday, they will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

Dec. 11: Santa Cola and the Poinsettia Ponies

Gentle Spirit Horses Rescue will be bringing Santa Cola and his Poinsettia Ponies to Fleet Farm on Sunday. Get the chance to meet and take a photo with Santa Cola — who promises to pass on your wishes to the real Santa Claus — and give the ponies treats. There also will be a giving tree for the Gentle Spirit horses that will be spending the holidays at the rescue. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dec. 11: Holiday Build a Board Class

The Mason Jar Boutique at The Bridges is hosting a “girl’s night out” charcuterie board-building class. Expert charcuterie artist Landi Schweigert, owner of Cultivated in Love, will be giving the class on what plates to build your board on and what foods to use, as well as how to decorate it. The class will begin at 7 p.m., and tickets can be purchased for $60, which includes the board and enough food to serve four people, at shopthemasonjar.com.

Dec: 11: Sioux Falls BoulderFest

Frontier Climbing is hosting the city’s first boulder competition from noon to 7 p.m. at 5045 E. Grant St. It will serve as a USA Climbing-sanctioned collegiate qualifying event. There’s a youth and all-ages competition. Click here for information.

Dec. 11: Christmas Bar Crawl

The fourth annual Christmas Bar Crawl starts at 4 p.m. with drink deals and other special offers throughout the night at several downtown bars. Bring a toy to donate, or make a $10 donation with your ticket. Click here for information. 

Dec. 12: Family Arts & Crafts Night

Want to make some ornaments to give to grandparents or other family members? Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation is hosting a Family Arts & Crafts Night at the Morningside Community Center, 2400 S. Bahnson Ave. Kids will make two ornaments as well as a winter-themed arts and crafts project. Registration will cost $10 and can be completed at register.siouxfallsparks.org. The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
