Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball

Put on your nicest outfit and your best disguise for The District’s New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball. This event will feature a countdown clock, balloon drop and music from DJ SieffStyle. There is no cover charge for the evening, and the event is 21 and older only. Entry will begin at 8 p.m., and the event will end at midnight.

Dec. 31: Noon Year’s Eve

Do you have a kid who will fall asleep way before midnight? Celebrate Noon Year’s Eve at the Washington Pavilion instead. Kids will get the chance to count down to noon in the Kirby Science Discovery Center. They’ll get to spend time with Radley Rex and experience a balloon drop.

Dec. 31-Jan. 1: New Year’s All Night Gaming Party

Galaxy Gaming is giving you the chance to spend your entire New Year’s Eve playing games and enjoying fellow gaming fans’ company. The All Night Gaming Party will include pizza, Bawl’s energy drinks, two sessions of laser tag and a chance to win prizes. The price for registration is $38 per person. Registration can be done either by calling Galaxy Gaming or in person.

Jan. 1: New Year’s Day Bike Ride

Join Spoke-N-Sport to ring in 2022 with a New Year’s Day bike ride. The ride will leave from the Spoke-N-Sport Cliff Avenue location and go all the way to Falls Park. After the ride, you’ll return to the store for coffee and hot chocolate from Coffea Roasterie and chili. The ride will begin at 1 p.m., and the route is tentative based on the weather.

Jan. 2: Underground Skate Punk Rock Prom

Underground Skate is hosting a Punk Rock Prom with Skate City on Jan. 2. What is a punk rock prom? It’s a time for gathering, skating and, most importantly, dressing up in your most creative punk rock clothing. The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. The entry fee is $9, which includes skate rental.

Jan. 2: Mom and Me Snowman Painting

Give your 2- to 5-year-olds a chance to explore different sensory experiences with Mom and Me Snowman Painting. Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation will be hosting the event at the Kenny Anderson Community Center at 3701 E. Third St. Kids will make five snowmen with their handprint as well as other materials like felt and rope. Registration is $5 and can be done at register.siouxfallsparks.org. The event will take place from 1 to 2 p.m.

Jan. 4: Milk Jug Bowling

Have you ever been bowling on ice? How about with a milk jug? Get your family together, and give your skills a shot with Milk Jug Bowling at Memorial Park, hosted by Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. The game will be open to all ages, and prizes will be given to the top scoring families. Registration is free but required and can be done at register.siouxfallsparks.org. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
