Aug. 15: Howdy Hey!

It’s a good time for a themed party. That’s why The Hello Hi is hosting its third annual Howdy Hey beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday. Dust off your boots and giddy-up on over to 120 S. Phillips Ave. for honky tonkin’, barbecue, cocktails and more.

Aug. 15: Battle at the Bear

Let’s go to Battle! At Battle at the Bear, you can take a one-hour personal challenge to see how many times you can climb the hill. It’s a time for friends and strangers to cheer each other on. It will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at Great Bear Ski Valley. Hosts are Top Fitness Sioux Falls and Leigh Marker.

Aug. 16: Pint for a pint

You can impact people’s lives by donating blood at Remedy Brewing Co., 401 E. Eighth St., from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Friday. Click here to schedule a donation for the Community Blood Bank or call 605-331-3222. Those donating receive a pint of their favorite brew and a personal-size, stainless steel growler.

Aug. 17: Downtown Riverfest

Party on the Big Sioux River beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday at the River Greenway Amphitheatre. Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. is hosting the event, which incudes food vendors, display vendors, cold beverages, activities and live music. The performance lineup includes The Teels, 4 to 4:45 p.m.; Mat D & Roadside Revival, 5 to 6:30 p.m.; Kid Dakota, 7 to 8:30 p.m.; and Indigenous, 9 to 11 p.m. The activity tent will include Phil Baker Music from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The Friends of the Big Sioux River will sell raffle tickets to win an inflatable paddle board and raise funds for its efforts to protect the Big Sioux River.

Music, food, fun: Your guide to this year’s Downtown Riverfest

Aug. 17: Art at the Levitt

Come for an evening of art and music with Art at the Levitt on Saturday. The art show and kids’ activities will begin at 4 p.m. with live music at 7. The Reminders will perform, with New World Radio opening. Hosts are SuFu Creative Events and Heather Cain.

Aug. 20: Juice run

If you’ve recovered from the Battle at the Bear, then maybe it’s time for a group run and smoothie. The group run will leave from the Juice Stop at Marion Road and 26th Street a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday for an “out and back” run. All paces and new faces are welcome. Smoothies will be sold at a 20 percent discount afterward for those who look sweaty. The Sioux Falls Area Running Club is the host.
