Music, food, fun: Your guide to this year’s Downtown Riverfest
This paid event listing is sponsored by Downtown Sioux Falls Inc.
The 11th annual Downtown Riverfest presented by The Bancorp will feature seven hours of live music, plus local food and other entertainment.
This family-friendly event takes place from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, and returns this year to the River Greenway Amphitheater.

The headliner is Indigenous, along with performances by Kid Dakota, Mat D & Roadside Revival and The Teels.
“I couldn’t be more excited to see Riverfest return to its original location at the River Greenway Amphitheater,” DTSF president Joe Batcheller said.
“It’s such a unique setting where people can take in amazing live music next to the Arc of Dreams and The Bancorp Building at Cherapa Place. I can’t wait for Indigenous to take the stage and put on a show.”
Indigenous, an American blues rock group, is known for sharing a stage with names like Santana, the Indigo Girls and Dave Matthews Band. Indigenous’ lead guitarist, Mato Nanji, was born and grew up on the Yankton Sioux Reservation and will bring a fusion of rock and blues to this year’s Downtown Riverfest.
From 4 to 7:30 p.m., families can enjoy entertainment from Phil Baker Music and South Dakota Aerial & Arts, visit the 605 Magic Art Bus and meet the animals from the ZooMobile. WoodGrain Brewing will bring Beer Bingo to Riverfest from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
There’s also plenty to eat, thanks to the following food vendors:
- Boki Gelato
- Backyard BBQ
- Breaking Burrito
- Curbside Delights
- Harry’s Yellow Submarine
- Hunny & Bunny
- King of Gyros
- Made It Myself Gourmet Shaved Ice
- Mr. Churro
- Pa & Sons
- The Ice Cream Truck – SDSU Ice Cream
- Spiced My Life
- Sunny Side Up Cafe

There also will be more than two dozen display, product and retail vendors.
