April 28-30: The SpongeBob Musical

It’s Jefferson High School’s first musical, and SpongeBob fans will love it. See “The SpongeBob Musical” with performances at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets can be purchased a half-hour before the show. They’re $8 for adults and $5 for students.

April 29: Augustana Choir 100th Anniversary

Celebrate the Augustana Choir on Friday with its 100th anniversary concert at the Washington Pavilion. A Sermon in Song will celebrate founding conductor Carl Youngdahl’s vision from 1921 as well as the 100 years of music the choir has brought to Sioux Falls. Alumni of the Augustana Choir will join in during the event. The concert will take place in the Mary W. Sommerveld Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are free and can be reserved here.

April 29-30: Terra Shepherd Anniversary Celebration

Terra Shepherd Boutique & Apothecary is celebrating its third birthday Friday and Saturday, and the party will include everything from specials on clothing to charcuterie cones. On Friday, charcuterie cones from Cultivated in Love and kombucha from Songbird Kombucha will be available, as well as a Build Your Own Mocktail event. You’ll also get a free gift with any purchase. On Saturday, clothing sales will still be available as well as birthday doughnuts when the store opens.

April 30: Henry’s Run

The annual Henry’s Run event benefiting Sanford Child’s Voice will take place Saturday. Sanford Child’s Voice is a South Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center and provides medical evaluations for children who may be victims of abuse and neglect. Henry’s Run is a 5K run/walk for runners of all skill levels and will begin at 9 a.m. at Falls Park. Registration is $30 until Thursday. To register, click here.

April 30: Pancake/Breakfast Feed

Support Tea Storm Chasers while enjoying a breakfast buffet of pancakes, flavored pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage links and waffles. It will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Prairie Event Hall in Tea at 27091 Kerslake Place. The suggested pre-event donation is $7 for adults, $5 for children 11-17 and $3 for those 4 to 10. Add $1 if you buy tickets the day of the event. Funds raised will support operating costs and training for Tea Storm Chasers along with disaster relief supplies. Click here to learn more.

April 30: FAB April Coffee Shop Ride

Been looking to get out on the trails now that the weather is warming up? Falls Area Bicyclists is hosting its April Coffee Shop Ride, and throughout the 10-mile ride, you’ll pass by Pettigrew Heights, ride through downtown and see the Air National Guard. The coffee shop this month is La Luna Cafe. Riders will meet outside The Cascade on Phillips at 9 a.m. Saturday. The ride is open to all skill levels.

April 30: Yoga for Charity

Root to Rise is hosting a Yoga for Charity event Saturday, this time in benefit of Accelerate Center for Autism Acceptance Month. Accelerate Center provides services to children age 2 to 6 with autism and encourages communication, play and other essential skills. There will be two yoga classes hosted at Coast 2 Coast Athletic Club at 111 S. Main Ave.: Power Vinyasa from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and Chill Flow from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. You can either donate with cash or a suggested donation item from the Accelerate Center wishlist.

April 30: Going to the Dogs Food Tour

Ever wanted to know exactly where you can take your furry friend with you next time you’re craving a meal downtown? Sioux Falls Food Tours is hosting its second annual Going to the Dogs Food Tour, which will take you to many dog-friendly food locations downtown – with treats for your dog as well. The tour begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, and spaces are limited. To reserve a space, click here.
