April 1-4: Baby Chick Week at Runnings

A sure sign of springs: The chicks have arrived! Catch the second half of Baby Chick Week at Runnings, with social media contests all week and the chance to win a chicken coop. Click here for information.

April 1: Virtual Easter egg hunt

Hunt for eggs without leaving  home with this virtual event hosted by Celebrate Church. You and your family can log on at 3 p.m. through a computer or virtual reality headset and virtually “walk” through an environment with hundreds of eggs, including one golden egg. April 2: First Friday in downtown Sioux Falls

First Friday kicks off Restaurant Week in downtown Sioux Falls, which runs through April 10. Several participating restaurants are offering three-course meals for $40 per person. First Friday also include multiple artist receptions and special offers at retailers and restaurants. Click here for the complete list.

April 2-5: Wibit Water Volleyball

Spike and splash at the Midco Aquatic Center all day April 2, 3 and 5. Water volleyball players must be able to comfortably stand in 4 feet of water. Drop-in play will be held in the shallow end of the Sanford Health 50-Meter Pool. No registration is required, but you’ll need a swim pass or to pay daily admission.

April 3: Easter Egg Hunt at Great Shots

Get an early start to your Saturday with a stop at Great Shots, where the field will be decorated with more than 7,000 candy- and toy-filled eggs! The free outdoor event will offer room for socially distanced fun with different areas set up for different age groups. The doors open at 7:30 a.m. for photos with the Easter Bunny, and the egg hunt, for 10 and younger, will start at 8:10 a.m. The Easter Bunny will hide 100 golden eggs with something special inside. Kids should bring their own baskets.

After the Easter egg hunt has ended, there’s a served buffet Easter brunch, golf bay reservations available, kid’s activities and individual pictures and visits from the Easter Bunny! Click here to learn more and purchase your tickets.

April 3: Underwater egg hunt

Head to the Midco Aquatic Center from 2:30 to 4 p.m. for an afternoon of collecting eggs in the water. There will be prizes, and kids can swim after the hunt. No registration is required, but you’ll need a swim pass or to buy daily admission.

April 3: Tea Chamber Easter Egg Scramble

Kids up to 10 years old can hunt for eggs in the Tea city park, 239 E. Brian St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. DJ Jer will be there, and several local businesses are donating candy, plus there will be photos with the Easter Bunny.

April 3: Downtown Easter Egg Hunt

The 3rd Annual Downtown Easter Egg Hunt takes place in 17 locations across downtown from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to explore downtown using the printable Easter Egg Hunt map or using Google Maps while collecting colorful candy-filled eggs and other treats.
