The week ahead: Feb. 6-12
The Week Ahead is our hand-picked event guide to the next seven days in Sioux Falls and slightly beyond. For guaranteed placement or to promote your event ahead of time, email [email protected] about a featured event listing.
Feb. 6: The music of Sting
Trio Jazz Club, 340 S. Main Ave., is the scene for a double event, “The Music of Sting,” featuring Jeremy Hegg on piano and vocals, Jon Hegg on keys and vocals, Jim Speirs on trumpet, Jon Bakken on cello, Andrew Reinartz on bass, Derek Hengeveld on drums and Andrea Ross on vocals. The full menu and full bar are available during the shows. The first performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, with the second show at 9 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Feb. 7: Raptor Rendezvous
It’s time to go eye to eye with raptors. The Outdoor Campus, 4500 S. Oxbow Ave., is offering two chances to watch a presentation by Tanya McCarlson, a South Dakota licensed falconer, during Raptor Rendezvous 2025. Live birds such as a Great Horned Owl, Peale’s Peregrine Falcon, Swainson’s Hawk and North American Kestrel will be featured. The first presentation from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday is full, but it’s followed by an open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Space remains for the second presentation at 7 p.m. Registration is required for the second presentation.

Feb. 8: Bloody Mary Fest
Time to try something tasty. The Sioux Falls Bloody Mary Fest will include two sessions on Saturday at the Washington Pavilion. The first session will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the second from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. It will include unlimited bloody marys, craft beer and other samples. This year’s space is double that of last year so there are more vendors and extra room for sampling. A designated driver ticket includes samples of bloody mary mix without liquor. You can reserve your tickets here.

Feb. 8: Galentine’s party
Come feel the love! In Flower and neighboring Daylily Coffee will host a Galentine’s Party from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 1010 E. Eighth St. Celebrate love and friendship with tarot readings, a vintage-inspired Valentine-making station, a photo booth, a fresh bloom bar to make a little floral magic, sweet treats and “love potions” to sip.

Feb. 9: Nothing happening today
Don’t you love a Sunday when there’s absolutely nothing going on? At least, nothing you care about, but you’d still like to relax over a beer? That’s why Altered Species Ales on the south side of the Western Mall is hosting a We Couldn’t Think of Anything Happening Today Party on Sunday. With no screens inside the brewery, you won’t even know there’s a football game going on elsewhere. Hours are 2 to 8 p.m.

Feb. 9: Super Bowl Soiree
JJ’s Billiards & Darts, 309 S. Elmwood Ave., will host a daylong Super Bowl Soiree on Sunday. Chili dogs will be served at 1 p.m., and participants can bring snacks to share — or not! Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m., and there will be television set giveaways at halftime and at the end of the game.
