Road Report: Oct. 31, 2022

Construction season is winding down, but we’re still offering our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.

What’s underway

Marion Road: The opening of Marion Road between Foundation Court and the Crooks/Renner Road has been delayed until sometime this week.

Pavement striping is taking longer than expected because of the weather.

60th Street North: The opening of 60th Street North between Westport and Minnesota avenues also has been delayed until the end of this week.

The concrete repairs at the bridge are taking longer than expected.

Minnesota Avenue: Minnesota Avenue between Russell and Second streets is nearing completion for this year. The contractor is working on finishing the last of the paving, retaining walls, center median, striping, traffic signals and landscaping.

This year’s work should be complete, with all lanes open to traffic, sometime in early November. There will be some lighting work that will take place in the spring of 2023 before the project is fully wrapped up, but impacts to traffic will be minimal.

Cliff Avenue: The outside northbound and southbound lanes on Cliff Avenue closed at Ninth Street on Wednesday to allow construction crews to replace the accessible curb ramps at this intersection. This work is expected to be complete sometime next week.

Cliff Avenue: The inside northbound lane and the center turn lane on Cliff Avenue closed at Jane Lane on Thursday to allow crews to perform water main repairs. One lane of northbound traffic will be maintained at all times during construction. This work is expected to be complete by the end of the week.

The city is already looking ahead to 2023 and planning those road projects!
