New Sanford Orthopedic Hospital opens, elevating the patient experience

The doctors are officially in at the Sanford Orthopedic Hospital.

The new facility opens its doors this week and gives residents of the Sioux Falls region access to an unparalleled patient experience. With a whole host of new amenities, the Sanford Orthopedic Hospital is set to make a big impact on orthopedic care in the community for years to come.

When the hospital was designed, the patient experience was considered a priority.

Situated in the middle of Sanford Health’s main campus, the hospital gives patients the ability to move easily from one specialty clinic to the next.

And if patients need to stay in Sioux Falls overnight before or after a procedure, they can book a room at the Highpoint Hotel. Located on the top floors of the hospital, this high-end hotel provides comfortable, spa-inspired rooms for guests.

From the hotel, patients can transition seamlessly to their appointment. After they’re discharged, they can choose to stay additional days to recharge, relax and enjoy scenic views of the city. Visitors can even stay at the hotel if they’re not a patient.

Within the hospital itself, care capabilities have been greatly improved. There are 12 operating rooms dedicated to orthopedics, which shortens wait times for procedures, and the facility also has an intraoperative MRI – the first one in the state.
