Road Report: Oct. 20, 2025
Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.
What’s underway
North Drive: Work continues on the bridge maintenance project on North Drive between Main and Fourth avenues.

On the bridge over the railroad tracks, the epoxy deck seal is complete in the eastbound lane and is in progress in the westbound lane.

The railing repainting is in progress, and other miscellaneous maintenance work is also in progress.

This bridge remains open to traffic. On the bridge over the diversion channel, the concrete overlay on the bridge itself is complete, and crews are working on drainage improvements, replacing the bridge approaches and repainting the railings.

This bridge will remain closed until late this month or early November.

All work on these bridges is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

72nd Street North: Work is underway on 72nd Street North between Seubert Avenue and County Highway 125/476th Avenue.

Grading work is complete, and crews are installing sanitary sewer and water main to serve a new subdivision being constructed east of County Highway 125/476th Avenue.

After the utility work is complete later this fall, 72nd Street North will be returned to a rural section gravel roadway.

Additional underground utility work is expected to take place next year, with paving expected to follow at a later date.

18th Street: The westbound lane of 18th Street closed between Grange and West avenues Oct. 14 to allow crews to perform driveway approach work. Westbound traffic is being maintained in the center turn lane. Eastbound traffic is not impacted. The north sidewalk also is closed, with pedestrian traffic detoured to the south sidewalk. This work is expected to be complete at the end of this week.
What’s next
Cleveland Avenue: Beginning today, Cleveland Avenue will be closed between 12th and 15th streets to allow crews to perform street maintenance work. This work is expected to be complete by the end of the day.
Veterans Parkway: Beginning today, the inside southbound lane of Veterans Parkway will be closed north of Madison Street to allow crews to complete concrete repairs. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
69th Street: Beginning today, the westbound right turn lane and north sidewalk on 69th Street will be closed at Solberg Avenue to allow crews to perform accessible curb ramp repairs. Right turns will be allowed from the through lane. Pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
Cliff Avenue: Beginning on Tuesday, the outside southbound lane of Cliff Avenue will be closed between 57th and 61st streets to allow crews to perform driveway approach work. The west sidewalk also will be closed, and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the east sidewalk. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.
