We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

The new Gaucho Flame Brazilian Restaurant at 2312 W. 69th St. features fast-casual Brazilian barbecue with beef, chicken and shrimp and 14 side dishes to choose from. Each plate comes with 8 ounces of protein, a choice of sauce and four sides. This diner went with New York strip steak, rice, beans, Mediterranean salad and, of course, grilled pineapple.

The new Legends Lounge & Grille at Elmwood Golf Course puts a spin on fried chicken as a sharable. Buttermilk-brined boneless chicken is hand-breaded and fried. It’s served with Carolina-style coleslaw, buttermilk ranch and pickles.

Crooked Pint Ale House is featuring six smashburgers through Aug. 23. Our pick is Stars & Stripes with American mustard grilled smash patties, American cheese, bacon, pickles, sauteed and raw red onions, romaine, mayo and ketchup.

Here’s a limited-time food item that will be a trip down memory lane for many. The OG Fried Apple Pie is back at McDonald’s until early August but maybe not as long if supplies run out. The fried apple hand pie dates back to the late 1960s when a franchise owner in Tennessee began selling them. According to reports, the fried pies were changed to a baked version in 1992.
