You can get a glimpse into the future for Sioux Falls pools at a series of planning meetings next week.

The city will share initial concepts for replacement facilities at multiple aquatics centers along with improvements to others.

The meetings will be Tuesday in the clubhouse at Prairie Green Golf Course, 600 E. 69th St., with the following schedule:

  • 4 p.m., Terrace Park.
  • 4:30 p.m., Laurel Oak Park.
  • 5 p.m., McKennan Park.
  • 6 p.m., Kuehn Park.
  • 7 p.m., Frank Olson Park.

If you attend the meetings, you can provide feedback to the planning team.

“Over the past few months, more than 1,200 people weighed in through public meetings and an online survey,” said Mike Patten, parks planning and projects manager. City officials used this feedback to create preliminary concepts to show potential solutions. Final solutions will be shared as the city looks to design these facilities next year. Construction will be phased in so most pools can stay open each season, but work is expected to start in 2024.
