Road Report: Nov. 17, 2025
Construction season is winding down. Here’s our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next as long as the weather holds.
What’s underway
Arrowhead Parkway: This year’s work on Arrowhead Parkway east of Veterans Parkway will wrap up soon. Crews are working on finishing up as much sidewalk, topsoil placement and seeding work as possible before Arrowhead reopens to traffic for the winter within the next week or so.

During the winter, Arrowhead Parkway will be open to one lane of traffic in each direction east of Veterans Parkway. Work will resume in the spring of 2026 with a five- to six-week closure of that segment so the pavement on the east half of the intersection can be completed.

After that segment of Arrowhead reopens, the street west of Veteran Parkway will close for the duration of the 2026 construction season.

All lanes are expected to be complete and open to traffic by the end of 2026, with some cleanup and restoration work completed in the spring of 2027.

What’s next
Minnesota Avenue: Beginning today, the outside southbound lane of Minnesota Avenue will be closed between 10th and 11th streets to allow the contractor to complete concrete repairs. Weather permitting, the repairs are expected to be finished in one week.
41st Street: Beginning today, the inside eastbound lane of 41st Street will be closed east of Ellis Road to allow the contractor to complete concrete repairs. This work is expected to be completed in approximately one week, weather permitting.
Veterans Parkway: Beginning today, the outside southbound lane and shoulder of Veterans Parkway will be closed between 18th and 26th streets to allow crews to install water main. One lane of southbound traffic will be maintained during this work. This work is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
51st Street: Beginning today, 51st Street will be closed from West to Grange avenues. Traffic will be detoured onto 41st Street. The contractor will be doing utility work. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Dec. 1.
Marion Road: Beginning at 8:30 a.m. today, the northbound lane of Marion Road will be closed between 53rd and 57th streets. Northbound traffic will be shifted into the center turn lane. The contractor will be doing utility work. This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day on Tuesday.
I-229 & Cliff: On Wednesday, the southbound lanes of Interstate 229 between the exits at Minnesota Avenue and 26th Street are scheduled to reopen to traffic. These lanes were fully reconstructed as part of an overall interchange reconstruction project at the Cliff Avenue exit. The southbound on- and off-ramps at Cliff will remain closed until late the month and traffic signals are fully installed at the southbound off-ramp. Northbound I-229 will remain in its current two-lane configuration until all barriers, cones and barrels are removed by crews and the pavement can be striped. This work is scheduled to be complete in early December, weather dependent.
