Restaurant Roundup: New breakfast options, Hammer Time, Crumbl Classics
The Tavern Grill has added more items to its Sunday brunch buffet. New offerings are pancakes, scrambled eggs, carved ham, biscuits and gravy, tossed salad and an assortment of mini Danish. The buffet is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For prices and a full look at the menu, click here.

With the end of the Sunday buffet at The Barrel House, the restaurant has added a plated breakfast menu. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The build-your-own bloody mary and mimosa bars remain.

With Minnesota Vikings fullback C.J. Ham announcing his retirement from the NFL, Sunny’s Pizzeria is offering a special on the pizza named after him. During college, Ham played at Augustana University. Get a medium CJ Hammer pizza for $10 until the end of the month. For online orders, use the code HAMMERTIME.

Crumbl has changed its menu options. The weekly rotating desserts have been cut from seven to four, and there’s now a permanent Classic Menu with six cookies that are always available: Pink Sugar, Brownie Batter, Celebration Cake, Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Crumb, and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk or Milk Chocolate Chip. Also new is Thin Thursday, which features packages of Chocolate Chip Cookie Thins.

If you like to play Uno, Squealer’s Smoke Shack in Tea is having a competition at diners’ tables this month. Tables of four or more can play one round, and the winner gets to choose a free order of pickle chips or a brownie sundae. The offer is good from 5 p.m. to close Tuesday through Friday.

The Cookie Jar Eatery now serves soup flights. Get three cups of soup and a warm bakery bun for $10.

Dakota Craft Links has a new French onion sausage that’s available as a sandwich or by the pound to cook at home. At the restaurant in the Jones421 Building, the all-Angus beef sausage is served with an Alpine cheese blend, beer-braised onions, fried shallots and fried garlic on a toasted bun.

Baking up a Storm at Lake Lorraine has a new lunch menu for winter, including a new Chipotle Beef sandwich and Pesto Chicken wrap.

The reopened Rosie’s Cafe needs help decorating. For every five fun magnets customers bring in, they’ll get a free treat, which is a piece of candy or, if you’re lucky, a cookie. The offer is good through Jan. 25.

My Place Cafe in Montrose has switched its specials from changing every week to changing every month. Here’s the lineup for January.

For the first time, Nothing Bundt Cakes is featuring chocolate frosting. It’s part of the latest pop-up bundtlet flavor: New-Fashioned Marble. It’s expected to be available through Jan. 25.

Kids eat for free on Mondays at Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar. One free kids meal comes with the purchase of a full-price adult entrée. Additional kids meals are half-price. Dine-in only.

There’s a $6 limited-time deal at Sonic. The meal includes the All-American Smasher with a side and a drink.

The Orion Pub doesn’t have an entry in the Downtown Burger Battle, but it’s welcoming diners to bring burgers to the bar “to split them however you want, and settle in with a drink or two.” Patrons must be 21 or older.

Tarquin Argentinian Restaurant is featuring four burgers for its own burger battle this month. The meat options are wild boar, elk, Angus beef and bison. Each one is $20.

Joining the protein trend, Subway is selling Protein Pockets for $4 for a limited time. They range from 21 to 24 grams of protein, and come in four flavors: Peppercorn Ranch Chicken, Turkey & Ham, Baja Chicken and Italian Trio.

Dunn Brothers Coffee is promoting its new lattes with up to 28 grams of protein. There’s a maple caramel option and an iced vanilla pistachio.

Ziggi’s Coffee has a new Pick Two menu. Buy a select food item like a breakfast burrito, egg bite or sandwich and get a small daily brew, cold brew, iced tea or dirty soda for $1. See the details here.

Pistachio-flavored drinks are back at Starbucks. Lattes and the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew are back, and there’s a new Pistachio Cortado.

Order the mocktail flight at Cascata Italian Cuisine this Dry January, and get a coupon for $3 off a mocktail on your next visit. The flight includes a nonalcoholic Old-Fashioned, Blueberry Mint Mule, Paloma and Aperitif Spritz.

Changes in hours, service
Chevy’s Fresh Mex closed for remodeling starting on Monday. The work includes a full kitchen renovation, a new bar rail, fresh paint and new TVs and is expected to take about 10 days, assistant manager John Reed said. Keep an eye on Facebook for updates.
