It’s the perfect time to go shopping for your landscaping needs – and show Mom some love too.

Landscape Garden Centers will be hosting a weekend of activities Saturday and Sunday, offering flowers and fun for the whole family.

“Mother’s Day is always a big weekend for us because it’s a great time to get outside and start getting plants in the ground,” said Clare Klein, events specialist. “A lot of people start planting annuals Mother’s Day weekend, and our greenhouse is full, so it’s a great time to stop by and enjoy all the extra activities we’ll be offering that weekend.”

Here’s a look at what to expect.

Make-and-take

All week and through Mother’s Day weekend, Landscape Garden Centers is offering a pre-filled $19.99 container with flowers that your little ones can personalize for Mother’s Day.

“It’s a container ready for display, and we’ll have paint and supplies ready for handprints,” Klein said. “Just pick out a pot, and we’ll help you decorate it.”

Plenty of gift ideas

Choose the perfect gift for Mom or Grandma with an assortment of prepackaged gift baskets priced at $50, $75 or $100. Each includes a plant or annual, a pair of gloves, seeds, a trowel and assorted gift items. Every basket also includes a gift card to Landscape Garden Centers valued at $20 through $40 depending on the basket price point.

“Plus, in our retail section, we have a great selection of ceramic pots in a range of sizes from offices all the way up to one on a stand for your living room,” Klein said. “We have blankets, home decor, things for fireplaces, so there’s a lot that would be great for a Mother’s Day gift.”

And, of course, the garden center is filled with great new inventory.

“Our trees are blooming, and we have a lot of nursery shipments in, so we have a lot of options,” Klein said. “Things are really getting green, so you’ll find what you need for outdoors this coming week too.”

Frozen treats

The forecast looks like frozen-treat weather, and you’ll find them at Landscape Garden Centers for Mother’s Day weekend. The Vanilla Gorilla Frozen Treats cart will be there from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Capture the moment

Visit Landscape Garden Centers on Mother’s Day and the team will be taking Polaroid pictures all day. Just wait for it to develop, and take home your snapshot of the day.

Gift an experience
