Great Bear ready to open Jan. 8 with limited runs
Great Bear Ski Valley will open for skiing and snowboarding at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8.
That marks its latest opening day ever, and when it does open, 15 percent of runs will be available, including the bunny hill.
Because of the limited runs, capacity will be limited on Saturdays, Sundays and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Day tickets must be purchased online in advance.
Lift tickets and lessons are available to book online at greatbearpark.com.
Season passes, punch cards and buddy passes will be accepted without restriction. If you plan to visit on Saturdays, Sundays or MLK Jr. Day with a voucher or discount, email webstore@greatbearpark.com at least 24 hours in advance to make a reservation.
New this winter, season passholders enjoy early access to the main hill on Saturdays at 8 a.m. starting Jan. 13, in addition to exclusive access during Season Pass Sundays from 6 to 8:30 p.m., starting Jan. 21.
The tentative opening date for tubing is Jan. 19, dependent on the weather. Tickets are not yet available online for tubing.
Punch cards issued during the 2022-23 season will expire Jan. 31.
âDespite record warm temperatures, our snowmaking crew has pushed hard to get us open with 15 percent of runs,â general manager Dan Grider said.
âWe know everyone is eager to slide on snow, so we are asking our guests to be mindful of our limited terrain. Our team is doing everything we can to get more trails open and to make everyoneâs experience an enjoyable one! We do expect tickets to sell out on the weekends, so plan ahead and buy online.â
Online ticket sales and lesson reservations are not yet available. For the most up-to-date information, visit greatbearpark.com.
