Delivery stats reveal what we’re eating during the deep freeze
When the rest of us want to stay home, those delivering food tend to get called out more.
So what are you craving during this latest cold snap? The delivery service BiteSquad sent us their most requested restaurants and meals. And while it doesn’t reflect all restaurants in town, the numbers do tell a story.
Where we’re ordering
Your late-night burrito binging doesn’t appear to have stopped because of the cold.
Twenty-four-hour Mexican restaurant Giliberto’s topped the most delivered list.

Coming in No. 2: Phnom Penh. Happy Lunar New Year!

And No. 3 definitely is a cry for comfort food with Sickies Garage Burgers & Brew.

After that things get interesting, with Juice Stop, because apparently we like our smoothies delivered to our door, and Sushi Masa, which if you didn’t know will serve you lunch if you order through BiteSquad.
Nos. 6-9 show some nice international flair to our collective palate. Congrats to Sanaa’s 8th Street Gourmet at No. 6, where you can’t beat the Mediterranean flavors, and then a couple of Mexican favorites in Jacky’s Restaurant and Abelardo’s Mexican Fresh.

Lao Szechuan comes in at No. 9
And Fazoli’s rounds out the list — if anything a surprise, it’s the only pasta place to make the top 10!
What we eat a lot
So now that you know where Sioux Falls is ordering from, what have we been eating?
Well, it’s an interesting mix. BiteSquad sent us the top 10 ordered foods in our area.
Explain this: The most popular item ordered is chips and dip.
Seriously, we’re ordering restaurant delivery. And we’re ordering chips and dip. Maybe it got confused with the super tasty Sanaa’s appetizer (above).
OK, then, moving on.
No. 2: Chicken strips.
Moving on again.
We also love our French dip sandwiches. And then we get into a little more foodie territory with garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. We’re guessing those are from Everest Indian Cuisine, which is served by BiteSquad.

After that come the sides, rice and fries, followed by a classic chicken sandwich.
And cream cheese wontons round out the top 10.
Well, no judging. Let’s just agree when there are multiple days below zero anything goes.
What we’re eating more of
Speaking of the never-ending cold pattern, Bite Squad also analyzed what foods have seen significant increases in ordering recently.
Many are repeats from the first list, including chicken strips at No. 1 and chicken tikka masala at No. 2.

But there are some interesting ones that were added, including banana cream pie, taquitos, sushi and cheese sticks.
Wonder what the experts think of the Sioux Falls delivery scene? We caught up with the rapidly growing Sioux Falls Takeout and Delivery Facebook group.
