Restaurant Roundup: Summer specials, taco fundraisers, food truck’s final days

Summer Sensations features for lunch and dinner have arrived at 22Ten Kitchen Cocktails. That’s the Peach Glazed Pork Chop above.

The Tavern Grill has introduced its summer specials, which include bruschetta, chicken burrata cavatappi pasta, strawberry spinach chicken salad, Indulgement Burger and strawberry shortcake. See the menu descriptions here.

BibiSol’s new BibiBeach Botanas Vibe menu is available through Sept. 21. Among the offerings: CaprEse with local tomatoes, aguachile and masa-and-sesame-breaded fish of the day on tacos or sopes.

New menu items have been added at The Treasury: bulgogi beef tacos, jerk wings, fried chicken and waffles, and the classic French dish Moules Mariniere, which includes Prince Edward Island mussels in a white wine-butter broth with herbs.

Over Easy has two limited-time specials: BLTA Benedict and S’more French Toast. New Recovery Refresher flavors are mango, watermelon and guava-pineapple.

BreakFEASTS are back at IHOP with the new Pancake Flight BreakFEAST and the returning Have It All BreakFEAST and Big Farmhouse BreakFEAST.

IHOP also is featuring Dubai Chocolate Pancakes and the Dubai Chocolate Milkshake until Aug. 28 or while supplies last.

Perkins is featuring an all-day breakfast special, The Great American Trio, on weekdays. For $5, get two buttermilk pancakes, an egg and two strips of bacon. Get all that plus an extra egg for $6, or three pancakes, two eggs and two strips of bacon for $7.

The featured pizza for July at both locations of WoodGrain Brewing Co. is the Hawaiian. It’s topped with barbecue sauce, mozzarella, cheddar, Canadian bacon, pineapple and jalapenos.

Wednesday, July 15, will be the final day for Lumpia on Wheelz in Sioux Falls. The food truck owners posted on social media that they are moving their business to Las Vegas, where they have family. Carlo and Katrin Palafox started the food truck that features Filipino cuisine last year. They invited customers who might be traveling to Las Vegas to look them up on Street Food Finder. Breadsmith introduced a new recipe Saturday: Spinach Feta Bread. It will be available every Saturday this month.

Nothing Bundt Cakes has two limited-time flavors. The new Cinnamon Roll Bundt Cake is a yellow cake “with a buttery blend of brown sugar and cinnamon” that’s topped with cream cheese frosting and cinnamon caramel sauce. The pop-up flavor will be available in the bundlet size until July 19 or while supplies last. Back for a second summer is S’mores Made With Hershey’s. It’s available in all sizes through July 19 or while supplies last.

The new Quartzite Coffeehouse on Main Avenue in Garretson has announced summer hours: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Here’s a look at the drink menu, which is expected to grow along with the pastry options. Initial offerings are the American Berry Croissant and French palmier cookies.

Events

Perch is hosting a taco fundraiser Tuesday for “Chasing Tables,” a documentary that features co-owner and chef Jordan Taylor. Tacos will be served from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wear cow-themed attire to the Chick-fil-A locations on 41st Street and Arrowhead Parkway on Tuesday, and get a free entree. Hours for Cow Appreciation Day are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Even black spots on a white shirt are acceptable. Business teams who dress up also have a chance to win free catering.

Big Sioux Diner & Dive is featuring its first Beer Dinner on Thursday, July 16. It’s partnering with Sturgis Brewing Co. for a four-course dinner with beer pairings. See the pairings here. Hours are 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 and are available here.

Fernson Brewing Co. is hosting the Totally Rad Taco Slam on Saturday, July 18, at the north-side brewery and taproom to raise money for the Help the House Foundation. The organization works to provide a safety net for those in the hospitality industry and to advocate for change. Chefs from the following restaurants will be serving tacos: Totally Rad Eats/Totally Rad Pizza, M.B. Haskett, Pho Quynh, Bread & Circus, BibiSol, and The Barrel House, all in Sioux Falls; Luna and Blackbird in Fargo; Vinai in Minneapolis; Brazen Open Kitchen & Bar in Dubuque, Iowa; Young Buck in Cincinnati; and Messina Supper Club in Philadelphia. The event will be from noon to 5 p.m., with all-you-can-eat tacos served from noon to 3 p.m. Prices are $35 for adults and $15 for kids. Get tickets here.

Changes in hours, service

• Nunzios has expanded its hours to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
• The final day for GoodSpirits Fine Wine & Liquor is Monday, closing at 2 p.m. Remaining merchandise is marked 75 percent off – except for two marked items and fuel. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Sunday, and the store will open at 9 a.m. Monday.
