July 10: Mah Jongg class

Interested in learning the Chinese tile game Mah Jongg — also known as Mah-Jong and Mahjong? Jan Riddle Goodrich and Sioux Falls Area Mah Jongg are hosting an organizational meeting to find out who wants lessons and who is ready to play drop-in. If enough card tables, kits and cards are brought to Caille Branch Library, 4100 S. Carnegie Circle, at 1 p.m. Friday, you can play that day.

July 10-11: Music festival

The two-day Lallycooler Music Festival will feature headliners Darius Rucker on Friday and Jason Derulo on Saturday at Sioux Falls Stadium. To see the complete lineup, click here. July 11: Tournament of Blades

Dynamic Martial Arts of Sioux Falls will host the Tournament of Blades from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Augustana University. The martial arts event brings together practitioners from a wide range of bladed weapon traditions for a day of learning, companionship and competition. Events take part in this order: foil, epee, longsword, sword and buckler, HEMA open blades and padded sword/kendo. You can register here. Spectators are welcome. Doors open at 8 a.m.; the competition begins at 9:30 a.m.

July 11: Vintage Fest

“Let’s do the Timewarp again” at the Totally Rad Vintage Fest on Saturday. Vendors specialize in iconic clothing and accessories from the 1980s, ’90s and Y2K eras while also offering records, toys, video games and home goods. There also will be a free-play vintage arcade, the Rad Rewind Museum and nostalgic photo-ops. Early-entry ticket holders receive first access at 8:30 a.m., with the doors open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. Early entry is $25, with general entry $8 in advance, $12 on Saturday. Kids 12 and younger are free. Early tickets are available here.

July 11: Family Amazing Race

Grab a partner and head to Good Earth State Park at Blood Run, 26924 480th Ave., for the Family Amazing Race. Designed for those 8 and older, teams of two will race around the park solving puzzles and competing tasks to see who will come out on top. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners.

July 13-16: Making magic

Wild Peach & Co., 196 E. Sixth St., will host a Myth & Magic Makers Camp for kids who love dragons, fairies and spells, and want to make fantasy-inspired art. Each session of the four-day camp goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for a complete list of activities and to register.
