4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

The new Dahlia Kitchen + Bar at The Steel District has new happy hour specials. Our pick is Queso Fundido for $8 from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The poblano-spiked melted cheese comes with tortilla chips. Add chorizo for an upcharge. And if you can’t make it for happy hour, Queso Fundido is just $2 more.

Chevys Fresh Mex has several new menu items. The Fajita Shrimp Burrito is stuffed with grilled shrimp sauteed in achiote sauce, along with fajita veggies, charra beans and rice. It’s topped with a habanero pesto and corn salsa and sprinkled with cheese. On the side, there are more beans and rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and Chevys’ signature scoop of corn tomalito.

If you’re looking to start the new year with more salads, Grille 26 is featuring the Honeycrisp Salad on its winter features menu. It includes spring mix, arugula, romaine, apples, honey-glazed pecans and pumpkin seeds, pomegranate seeds, feta and avocado with an apple vinaigrette.

Every year, Pantone picks a color that captures the global mood and attitude. This year’s Color of the Year is Mocha Mousse, and Oh My Cupcakes saw that as a perfect opportunity to create a featured cupcake for January. Mocha Mousse starts with a signature chocolate cupcake filled with a mocha mousse, topped with an espresso cream cheese frosting and finished with a ganache drizzle.
