4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

The four new breakfast specials at Crack’d Pot Restaurant actually are available all day — they just cost a $1 more after 11 a.m. Blueberry French Toast features blueberry bread made by Rotella’s Italian Bakery in La Vista, Nebraska. The bread is dipped in French toast batter, grilled and topped with powdered sugar. It’s served with whipped butter and blueberry syrup.

Here’s a limited-time offering from the Phillips Avenue Diner. Beer Cheese Soup is made with Lion’s Paw Lager from local Fernson Brewing Co. It’s topped with pretzel croutons. When the diner makes specials like this, availability typically lasts for a couple of weeks.

Baking Up a Storm, the bakery in the lobby of The Blu on Lorraine at Lake Lorraine, now offers a sandwich and soup for lunch. The offering changes every week. Up this week and the third week in February is the Bacon and Dates Panini. Chopped bacon, dates, red onion, spinach and honey pistachio goat cheese are served on focaccia. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Looking for a dessert that isn’t too sweet? Maribella Ristorante’s featured Torta di Nocciole is a hazelnut cake topped with confectioner’s sugar and a dollop of whipped Nutella. It’s available through the end of the month.
