4 new things to eat this week

We cover new restaurant openings literally all the time at our sister site, SiouxFalls.Business, which also means we can dig into the menu so you know what’s in store for you. Here are our four picks to eat this week.

If you’re a fan of the rib sandwich that makes occasional limited runs at a national chain, locally owned The Smoked Culture BBQ & Brews has its own version that’s “1000% percent better” and available daily. The Poser features smoked pork belly — sliced fresh to order — glazed with barbecue sauce and topped with pickles and onions on a toasted brioche bun.

While the new Hacienda Jalisco features the usual tacos and burritos, diners also can try pupusas, stuffed tortillas that are the national dish of El Salvador. Choose from pork and cheese or cheese and curtido, which is a Salvadoran cabbage slaw.

Did you know Steak-Out also does burgers? The longtime delivery-only restaurant that also does catering features a new burger every month, but December’s creation was so popular that it will be available through January. The El Chapo features a charbroiled patty with Southwest seasoning, cotija cheese and green chiles. It’s served with homemade pico de gallo, guacamole, shredded lettuce, sour cream and tortilla strips.

The new candy store Sweet Amber Lynn’s makes custom Lotus plant-based energy drinks at its soda shop-like counter. Owner Lori Gilliland has fun creating flavors that use candy themes. The Astro Pop version uses passion fruit, green apple and red raspberry.
