When to find a fire hydrant party in your neighborhood
The forecast definitely is looking like the time to open up a fire hydrant and cool off.

Sioux Falls is bringing its popular neighborhood parties to five more areas of town this summer.

It’s a collaborative effort among the city’s fire, police, health, library and parks departments and kicked off at Bakker Park earlier this month.

Here’s where the hydrants will be opened up next. All parties run from 1 to 3 p.m.:
- July 20: Linwood Park, 4409 E. Walker Way.
- July 27: Prairie Meadows Park, 6805 S. Grange Ave.
- Aug. 3: Whittier Park, 1009 E. Third St.
- Aug. 10: Whispering Woods South Park, 5820 S. Bahnson Ave.
- Aug. 17: Granite Valley Park, 1601 E. 69th St.

All parties include music and games. They’re free, and there’s no registration required.
