Want a state park pass? You can check one out at the library
Before you head to a state park this year, you might want to head to the library.
Many South Dakota libraries, including Siouxland Libraries, are offering state park passes through a partnership between South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks and the South Dakota State Library, made possible with federal funds.
âYour local library is the perfect gateway to explore the world around you,â George Seamon, state librarian, said in a statement. âThe Check Out South Dakota State Parks program gives library patrons a great opportunity to enjoy the natural wonders all over our state.â
Library users can check out a state park pass from a participating library for free for up to three days. For a list of participating libraries, click here.
âSouth Dakota state parks offer a variety of activities for families to enjoy,â said Al Nedved, state park deputy director. âWe are excited to partner with libraries across the state in a new way to expand these outdoor opportunities to new people.â
