Sept. 19: Vintage shopping

Seasoned Style has partnered with The Small Shoppe, Urban Archaeology and The Green Penny to create a Vintage Ventures Tour that celebrates the sustainability and uniqueness of vintage goods shopping. Each store offers one-of-a-kind treasures that tell their own stories, from refurbished furniture and vintage home decor to rare collectibles and classic clothing. Each location has different open hours, so plan your tour to make the most of your visit. Have your Vintage Ventures Tour postcard punched at all four locations for a chance to win a gift card prize.

Sept 19: Cookies, Corks & Brews

Dakota Horizons Girl Scouts is hosting an adult-only event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Monick Yards, 605 E. Eighth St. Cookies, Corks & Brews is an evening filled with Girl Scout Cookie-inspired original dessert creations from chefs at some of the Sioux Falls area’s favorite restaurants, hor d’oeuvres, paired local wine and beer, and live and silent auctions. Sept. 19: Midtown at McKennan

Midtown Coffee Radio Hour is back at the McKennan Park Bandshell. The group is betting on good weather, so they’ve scheduled a night at an outdoor venue beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.  It’s a free concert with family-friendly timing/location/cost/content (mostly, probably) through fresh sketches and live music.

Sept. 21: Falling for Animals

Dive into the spirit of autumn at the Great Plains Zoo’s Falling for Animals event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Get ready for bubble parties, inflatables and lawn games, and watch as the animals enjoy special pumpkin enrichment. You can capture the perfect fall photo at the strawbale photo-op in the plaza. The event is included with zoo admission or membership.

Sept. 21: Loft tours

Downtown Sioux Falls Ince. once again will host the Downtown Loft Tour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. During this self-guided tour, you will have the chance to see vacant and occupied lofts that otherwise would not be available for public inspection. Cost is $5 per individual, with children younger than 12 free. Ticket sales will take place between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Cascade at Falls Park, 701 N. Phillips Ave. After purchasing your pass, you will receive a guide with a map of all participating properties, as well as a sticker that allows you to gain entry. No maps will be released before pass purchase.

Sept. 20: Maze anniversary

Heartland Country Corn Maze southeast of Harrisburg is celebrating its 25th anniversary of puzzling people. And this fall’s maze depicts an 11-acre sea turtle carved out of towering cornstalks. With a maze map and a list of questions in hand, find your way to 10 checkpoints that contain answers. Find the hidden checkpoint, and receive a free treat from the concessions barn. Wind your way through weekends through Oct. 20: 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $9 for adults and $6 for children age 5-10. Group rates are available.

Sept. 22: Documentary screening

TakeItBack.Org will host a screening of the documentary “Bad Faith” on Sunday at Icon Events Hall, 402 N. Main Ave. It will begin with a reception with wine and charcuterie at 5 p.m., the screening at 6 p.m. and a Q&A with Anne Nelson, author of “The Shadow Network,” at 7:30 p.m. To see a film trailer, click here.
